46 Years of Cricket - By John Taplin

I am 60 on Tuesday and my memories of cricket go back 46 years including local and county cricket.

I have followed county cricket for many years in Yorkshire and Essex. I started scoring at just 13 years old. I score normal matches, not 20/20 games. I can’t tell you how many matches I’ve been to or scored, but I know it’s quite a lot.

I have also travelled to Germany, Hampshire and Cardiff sometimes with Leger Holidays to watch cricket.

One match I remember watching in the past was when Graham Gooch was playing at Headingley.
